In this position, you will collaborate with middle and high school students who require emotional support within a structured educational environment. Reporting to the Special Education Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Upholding classroom standards and procedures while guiding students through positive behavioral modeling and providing emotional assistance with a friendly demeanor.
- Contributing to the execution of each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP) as directed by the supervising teacher.
- Assisting with students' personal and medical needs in coordination with health or nursing staff when necessary.
- Participating in training sessions and team meetings as assigned.
- Understanding team objectives and your role within the team, supporting collective decisions, and collaborating with colleagues.
- Employing crisis intervention techniques under the guidance of the teacher, as appropriate to the situation and safety considerations.
This position spans 10 months and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree, Credential of Competency, or two years of postsecondary training, or a high school diploma.
Experience: Prior experience as an instructional assistant or paraprofessional in a special education setting is preferred.
