Position Overview

The Global Cross-Border Strategy Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping Visa's cross-border business strategy and overseeing its implementation across diverse regions. This position requires collaboration with market leaders, functional teams, and other stakeholders to navigate the intricate challenges that the cross-border business presents, impacting various sectors including product development, pricing strategies, legal compliance, regulatory frameworks, marketing initiatives, client relations, and partnership growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine a strategic framework for assessing and executing client engagement and business development efforts targeting underrepresented or vulnerable cross-border market segments.
  • Assist regional and functional teams in optimizing market entry strategies to enhance client focus on cross-border operations through marketing, customer value propositions, loyalty programs, and data-driven insights.
  • Craft tailored, corridor-specific strategies to elevate consumer preference in strategically significant markets.
  • Revise and improve Visa's operational model for managing comprehensive cross-border deal flows, including opportunity prioritization, pipeline management, deal structuring, governance, and performance evaluation.
  • Establish and oversee detailed strategic workstream plans, leading cross-functional teams through all phases from hypothesis development to execution.
  • Manage the operational functions of the global cross-border organization, including tracking objectives and key results (OKRs), coordinating meetings and events, and preparing presentations.
  • Effectively communicate strategic recommendations to team members and functional partners, ensuring clarity and impact through executive-level presentations and briefing documents.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, identify growth opportunities, and conduct quantitative analyses to support Visa's strategic initiatives.

Work Environment

This role operates in a hybrid work model, requiring employees to work in the office a set number of days each week, as determined by leadership, while also allowing for remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 2 years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or no experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree.
  • Experience in consulting, product management, client relations, or the financial services sector is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to convey complex technical solutions to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing high-quality, executive-ready deliverables.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Additional Information

This position requires permanent authorization to work in the U.S. and may involve travel up to 10% of the time. The role will be conducted in an office environment, necessitating the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate effectively, and operate standard office equipment.
