Correspondence Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Correspondence Specialist is a key member of the Patient Financial Services Department at Saratoga Hospital. This role is responsible for processing and coordinating all correspondence received through various outlets, including mail, fax, and electronic portals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and coordinate all correspondence received daily, including authorization letters, medical records requests, legal notices, payer correspondence, and patient correspondence.
- Reroute cash-related correspondence to the Cash team for batching daily.
- Assign appropriate indexing references to correspondence within the billing systems and ensure mail is routed correctly.
- Maintain and monitor various filing and document imaging systems, with the ability to scan a high volume of correspondence efficiently.
- Work returned and outgoing correspondence in a timely manner, adhering to established policies.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with employees and PFS leadership to ensure policies and procedures are updated as needed.
Requirements:
- Proficient with the Meditech system.
- Ability to organize and establish day-to-day priorities while utilizing critical thinking skills.
- Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed, and positive.
- Excellent customer service skills and must display integrity, friendliness, and compassion.
- Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with patients, co-workers, and medical staff.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective and appropriate written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to take and follow direction in a positive and appropriate manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma with at least 2 years of office experience. Associates or Bachelor's degree in lieu of office experience. Must have a high level of computer skill.
Salary Range: $17.58 - $25.87
Pay Grade: 15
Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience, qualifications, shift, and location.
