Job Title: Event Services Manager

Join the team at Colorado Springs World Arena as an Event Services Manager, where you will play a crucial role in the coordination and execution of events at our world-class venue.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage all aspects of event services, including event planning, coordination, and execution. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned events at the Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts
  • Communicate with event promoters, event managers, and production managers throughout all stages of events
  • Coordinate the requirements of each event based on client contracts and production riders
  • Work with operations, changeover, housekeeping, box office, catering, marketing, and technical services to ensure logistical details are delivered
  • Procure external contract equipment and labor, including audio, lighting, backline, heavy equipment, vehicles, gases, and décor
  • Facilitate pre- and post-event walk-throughs to assess facility condition
  • Serve as facility representative during events, enforcing facility policies and procedures, identifying and resolving event challenges, and resolving public complaints
  • Schedule in-house and 3rd-party approved vendor stagehands and rigging labor for assigned events
  • Supervise back-of-house operations and staff, including stagehands, security, and standby crew during assigned events
  • Manage event budgets and complete settlement documents for each event
  • Communicate event requirements for the scoreboard, auxiliary boards, marquee, and video equipment
  • Ensure event compliance with applicable fire and safety codes

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated successful history of responsibility and leadership in a similar field
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under stressful conditions
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and CAD programs

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Event Management, Theater Management, Business Management, or other related field
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience managing events in a theater or arena
  • Additional years of experience may be substituted for formal education

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Use of hands to finger/handle; use of arms to reach; climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to see and read names from lists, diagrams, computer work, and colored schematics for event set-ups
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as written correspondence, safety rules, diagrams, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or members of an organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as settlements, hours/dollars, member payments, portions, and percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with unique client-related situations or staffing issues

Work Environment:

  • Long hours during events
  • Variable schedule – days, weekends, nights, holidays
  • Most of the time, moderate noise levels associated with an office setting
  • Occasional loud noise levels when working a concert or louder events

Salary:

$55,000-$60,000
