POSITION OVERVIEW

Sciens Building Solutions is in search of a skilled Fire Protection Project Coordinator (FPC) who will oversee the implementation of low voltage system initiatives while adhering to budgetary constraints and ensuring compliance with relevant codes. This role involves close collaboration with our sales and installation teams, as well as direct engagement with clients to guarantee effective design, flawless installation, and professional commissioning of our projects. The FPC plays a crucial role in our expanding team and must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail throughout all phases of project planning and execution. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for managing customer relationships and leading staff effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are critical for success in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise all stages of project execution, including the coordination of personnel, materials, and equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines while remaining within budget.
  • Evaluate design schematics for compliance with applicable regulations, project specifications, and industry standards.
  • Offer support, direction, and expertise to field operations and engineering teams.
  • Manage project timelines and workforce planning forecasts.
  • Engage with clients, including contractors, end users, and fire safety officials.
  • Direct project management and coordination of installations and commissioning for designated projects.
  • Conduct field assessments.
  • Interpret system designs from blueprints.
  • Analyze project specifications.
  • Estimate and propose modifications to project scope as necessary.
  • Provide regular updates on project budgets, including cost-to-complete assessments.
  • Oversee project financials, including job costs, invoicing, and adherence to projected profit margins.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment while exhibiting leadership qualities.
QUALIFICATIONS WE VALUE
  • Two to five years of experience with commercial fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Two to five years of experience as a project manager within the fire and security sector.
  • Technical proficiency, including a comprehensive understanding of fire alarm, suppression, and security systems.
  • NICET Level II certification.
  • Strong familiarity with NFPA72 code requirements.
  • Customer-oriented with expertise in project and personnel management.
  • Ability to efficiently manage job scheduling and progress with a focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Proficient in resolving issues as they arise.
  • Exceptional organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the fire and security industry.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety regulations.
