Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and excellence of all maintenance operations, both in the workshop and at various job sites. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with industry standards, inspection protocols, and safety regulations, thereby fostering operational efficiency and enhancing client satisfaction.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute quality assurance/control frameworks for industrial maintenance tasks.
  • Perform thorough inspections and audits to ensure adherence to organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Develop and sustain comprehensive documentation concerning quality evaluations, testing procedures, and non-compliance incidents.
  • Work closely with project leaders and field managers to address quality concerns and implement effective corrective measures.
  • Educate and guide maintenance staff on quality expectations, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate and track quality performance indicators to pinpoint improvement opportunities and initiate relevant actions.
  • Engage in project planning and scheduling to incorporate QA/QC criteria into project timelines.
  • Verify that all tools, equipment, and materials utilized in maintenance tasks conform to quality benchmarks and specifications.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies regarding QA/QC issues.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Certification as a welding inspector (CWI) is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including a minimum of 2 years in a QA/QC capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing QA/QC protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with inspection methodologies and quality assessment techniques.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of industrial maintenance practices, processes, and equipment.
  • Strong grasp of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, API Q1).
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, and blueprints effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle quality challenges and promote continuous improvement.

Work Environment:

  • This role encompasses both indoor (workshop) and outdoor (field) settings, with exposure to various environmental conditions.
  • Responsibilities may involve working at heights and in confined spaces.

Physical Demands:

Communication: Must effectively convey information to team members regarding quality standards and inspection results.

Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, and maneuver around construction sites and facilities for inspections.

Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers for inspection tasks and handling tools.

Climbing: Occasionally required to access elevated areas for inspections.

Visual Acuity: Must be capable of conducting detailed visual inspections to ensure compliance with standards.

Weight Handling: Ability to carry and manage inspection tools and materials.

Exposure Risks: Potential exposure to physical hazards, chemicals, and noise typical in industrial environments.
