Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute quality assurance/control frameworks for industrial maintenance tasks.
  • Perform inspections and evaluations to confirm adherence to company policies and legal standards.

  • Work collaboratively with project leaders and site supervisors to address quality concerns and implement corrective measures.
  • Educate and guide maintenance staff on quality benchmarks, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Analyze quality performance indicators to pinpoint improvement opportunities and initiate relevant actions.
  • Engage in project planning and timelines to ensure QA/QC considerations are incorporated into project schedules.
  • Verify that all tools, equipment, and materials utilized in maintenance tasks meet established quality criteria.
  • Maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies concerning QA/QC issues.

Educational Background:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Certification as a welding inspector (CWI) is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a QA/QC capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing QA/QC protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and quality testing techniques.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of industrial maintenance practices, processes, and machinery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, API Q1, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle quality challenges and promote continuous improvement.

Work Environment:

  • This role involves both shop and field environments.
  • Travel to various job sites and client locations may be necessary based on project requirements.

Physical Demands:

Communication: Must effectively convey information to team members regarding welding procedures and inspection results.

Mobility: Requires the ability to stand, walk, and navigate construction sites for inspections.

Manual Dexterity: Must utilize hands and fingers for detailed inspections and measurements.

Climbing: Occasionally needs to access elevated areas for inspections.

Visual Acuity: Must be capable of visually assessing welds to ensure compliance with standards.

Weight Handling: Ability to carry inspection tools and materials as needed.

Exposure Risks: May encounter physical hazards and environmental conditions typical of industrial settings.
