Job Overview

The Senior Procurement Engineer will oversee and implement projects within the Supply Chain and Purchasing division. Key improvement initiatives will concentrate on supplier quality enhancement, the development and qualification of new suppliers, advancements in ERP systems, modeling of supply and demand, optimization of logistics and transportation, as well as the enhancement of supplier quality.


Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead projects in the purchasing division, focusing on new supplier development, cost efficiency, and process enhancements.

• Utilize statistical expertise to pinpoint areas for enhancement within supply chain manufacturing processes.

• Source both new and existing products effectively.

• Ensure project timelines are maintained and communicate any challenges promptly to management.

• Conduct cost-based comparative analyses (Make vs Buy, Buy vs Buy).

• Assess supplier capabilities in relation to business requirements.

• Execute inventory assessments and manage ERP processes (Safety Stock levels, Order Frequency, Order Quantities, etc.).

• Collaborate closely with product development teams to guarantee that new products are introduced with comprehensive supply chain considerations.

• Oversee the Supplier Quality Issue Tracking system, managing vendor-related issues from inception to resolution.

• Identify and rectify discrepancies in product specifications in collaboration with vendors.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.

• A Master’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or a related engineering field is advantageous.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is essential, particularly in sourcing materials and services for the manufacturing of construction tools or equipment.


• Proven experience collaborating with engineering and supply chain teams to analyze technical specifications, identify appropriate suppliers, and negotiate contracts.

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes involving steel, aluminum, or plastics is required.


• Proficiency in Mandarin is mandatory.

• A demonstrated track record of problem-solving and project management within operations, manufacturing, or supply chain contexts is necessary.

• Experience with business systems (ERP/MRP) is a plus.

• Strong skills in spreadsheets and databases are required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential.

• Capability to engage and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams across product development, manufacturing, marketing, finance, and supply chains.


• Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
