Job Details
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Procurement Specialist II is accountable for sourcing and acquiring goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, and supplies essential for manufacturing operations. This role emphasizes cost control and expense reduction while ensuring that purchased items meet detailed specifications and are delivered on schedule. The specialist will also assist in resolving any technical issues that may arise between Oil States Industries and its suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor the status of production runs and legacy items to prevent stock shortages.
- Analyze usage and purchasing trends, adjusting safety stock levels and lead times as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive supplier pricing records.
- Engage with vendors to gather product or service details, including price negotiations, availability, and delivery timelines. Assess vendor proposals to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality Manager, Production Supervisors, Project Engineers, and Sales department to address any issues or challenges.
- Resolve manufacturing, delivery, or accounting issues, including handling defective goods or services. Work with relevant personnel to identify problems and implement corrective measures, escalating unresolved matters to the Materials Manager.
- Determine procurement methods, such as direct purchases or competitive bids, and prepare the necessary requests.
- Facilitate the timely delivery of goods to users as required.
- Conduct research on domestic and international suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and delivery options.
- Provide weekly updates on the status of all open purchase orders and maintain procurement documentation systematically for audit purposes.
- Oversee open purchase orders to ensure supplier delivery commitments are met.
- Generate or approve MRO requisitions as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
