Job Overview


The Lead Electrical Design Engineer plays a crucial role in executing advanced design and analytical tasks to support various operational and manufacturing units.

This position involves collaboration within a project team from the initial concept through to the completion of construction.

Utilize extensive and diverse knowledge across a range of engineering principles and practices in various assignments.

Employ advanced methodologies to modify or enhance scientific theories and practices to fulfill project requirements.

Engage in significant projects or multiple moderate-scale initiatives with intricate features.

Design comprehensive systems, components, or processes.

Prepare thorough project documentation and ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.

Innovate new techniques and enhance existing processes, materials, or products.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to senior management or staff as a specialist.

Coordinate efforts with all necessary personnel to complete assignments efficiently.

Review and approve project scopes, budgets, and timelines.

Draft proposals to offer professional services or secure funding for engineering initiatives.

Receive guidance on overarching objectives, critical challenges, new concepts, and policy matters.

Represent the organization in discussions and conferences regarding broad engineering aspects.

Interact with project managers, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Participate in project meetings and present specific engineering aspects.

Undertake additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is advantageous.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.

Over 6 years of relevant engineering experience.


Strong proficiency in understanding Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs); adept in 3D and 2D routing and modeling; experience in developing complete electrical power distribution construction documents and specifications.

Familiarity with IEEE, NEC, and NESC standards is essential.


Proven success in industrial power distribution projects, including medium voltage utility connections down to low voltage facility distribution, is required; experience in the Oil and Gas sector is preferred.

Ability to comprehend client specifications, procurement, commissioning, and startup standards, documentation, practices, and vendor data approvals is highly preferred.

Experience with modeling software such as ETAP, EasyPower, SKM, PSS, or similar is required.

Experience in designing layouts and spacing, specifying equipment, conducting grounding studies, and performing protection and coordination studies is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project or Primavera is desirable.

Collaborate effectively with team members; interact professionally with individuals at all organizational levels.

Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Exhibit excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to prepare and deliver project-related presentations to clients is desirable.

Occasional overtime and travel may be necessary.
