**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Oil States International. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for negotiating and procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for our company.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Reviews requisitions and confers with vendors to obtain products or services such as negotiating price, availability, and delivery.
  • Researches domestic and overseas suppliers for competitive pricing and deliveries.
  • Manages vendor relations and leads dispute negotiations.
  • Handles any manufacturing, delivery, or accounting problems that may arise.
  • Determines methods of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Prepares purchase or bid requests.
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Utilizes computerized purchasing and non-conformance systems.
  • Resolves defective or unacceptable goods or services with affected OSI personnel and others to determine the issue and get corrective action from the vendor.
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5-7 years previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment; or at least 9 years of previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment without a degree.
  • At least 5 years previous purchasing experience related to engineered components (i.e., forgings, castings, machined parts).
  • Experience with global sourcing is desirable.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient using computers, including Outlook email, Excel, and Word.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Detail oriented.
