Lead Procurement Specialist

John Zink Hamworthy Combustion is seeking a Lead Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic Combustion Americas team.
In this essential position, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of projects by managing the procurement processes for essential materials and commodities.
Collaboration is key, as you will engage with a variety of stakeholders and external partners to build strong relationships, negotiate agreements, and monitor supplier performance.
Our TeamYou will be integrated into the Combustion Americas team within our Equipment Technology and Services division, closely working with product management, manufacturing, engineering, global commodity, and warehouse teams.
This team is committed to ensuring timely delivery of the right components to meet customer demands and enhance project profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts.
- Possess knowledge of steel commodity standards applicable in industrial contexts, including both stainless and carbon steel.
- Establish and nurture a sustainable network of beneficial supplier partnerships.
- Coordinate efforts with product management, manufacturing, and warehouse teams.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective inventory acquisition.
- Implement strategies to enhance procurement efficiency and align with customer timelines.
- Oversee supplier performance to meet cost, quality, and delivery standards.
- Minimize discrepancies and material defects, contributing to quality enhancements.
- Develop a framework for contract negotiations and supply risk management.
- Monitor and report on industry and commodity trends, sharing insights with product management and estimation teams.
- Ensure data integrity within systems and utilize tools for planning, procurement, contracts, and supplier relations.
- Understand metal commodities, fabrication methods, engineering designs, and material applications in industrial environments.
- Track and expedite deliveries for assigned commodities.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, supplier agreement management, and relationship building.
- Strong understanding of raw materials used in the industrial fabrication of combustion equipment.
- Experience in data analysis, trend identification, and data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with MRP or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of the global commodities landscape and supply base.
- A Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A decade of experience in a global commodity role within the industrial equipment or automotive sectors.
- Experience with demand-driven operating models and ERP systems.
- Expertise in developing and implementing supplier relationship management strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain related to raw materials for industrial equipment fabrication.
