Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will excel in identifying challenges and formulating effective solutions within the manufacturing domain. Your role will involve cross-departmental collaboration to drive enhancements across the production landscape.

  • Oversee the creation and refinement of manufacturing techniques aimed at minimizing costs while enhancing efficiency and product quality.
  • Update and manage process routing systems to ensure accurate sequences, tooling identification, and efficiency metrics to achieve cost-effective production.
  • Provide guidance to production teams regarding process modifications, tooling updates, and expected outputs.
  • Evaluate product design releases for both existing and new components, suggesting modifications to improve manufacturability and reduce expenses.
  • Engage in industrial engineering tasks to offer technical support and insights to the manufacturing team.
  • Establish and uphold work standards through time studies and operational assessments.
  • Conduct analyses to set allowances and new job standards in response to changes in engineering, processes, materials, or equipment.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor fellow engineers in improvement techniques and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement error-proofing strategies in processes.
  • Research and assess the need for new machinery or tools, providing justifications for procurement.
  • Prepare manufacturing cost estimates and analyze data for statistical process control.
  • Conduct capability assessments and address corrective action requests.
  • Explore opportunities for enhancements in materials, machinery, and tooling.
  • Facilitate and document Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in drafting Quality Management System (QMS) work instructions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a precision machining manufacturing setting.
  • Green Belt Lean/Six Sigma certification or substantial experience with Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, including methods, tooling, and cost management.
  • Ability to develop and implement CNC programming to support machining and assembly operations.
  • Familiarity with fixture design and part holding techniques.
  • Proficient in interpreting detailed drawings, sketches, and blueprints.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-driven with a commitment to achieving results.
  • Adaptable to changing work conditions and assignments.
  • Collaborative team player.
