Procurement Planner Job Overview:

The Procurement Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of the supply chain process. This position involves a comprehensive understanding of how manufacturing affects delivery timelines and the maintenance of essential data related to Material Requirements Planning (MRP), part configurations, and lead times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the impact of manufacturing on delivery timelines and uphold MRP data, part configurations, and lead times.
  • Facilitate modifications to part information, routing, and schedules in response to Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Input and sustain production work orders and delivery timelines for all requirements.
  • Balance schedules to ensure steady production rates.
  • Monitor the advancement of work orders and adherence to schedules.
  • Oversee inventory levels for materials, including adjustments and scrap transactions.
  • Accelerate the procurement of parts necessary to address production shortages.
  • Collaborate with various departments to coordinate schedule adjustments.
  • Conduct capacity planning to address resource overloads.
  • Generate management reports and presentations to communicate performance metrics.
  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding material components based on quality, cost, service, and delivery expectations.
  • Prepare and review material requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Implement corrective measures with suppliers for any defective materials.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of experience in materials management or procurement.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
