Job Title: Resource Teacher Assistant - Paraprofessional

Norman Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Resource Teacher Assistant - Paraprofessional to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Resource Teacher Assistant - Paraprofessional will provide support to teachers and students in a special education setting. This role will involve assisting with instruction, supervising students, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Instruction: Provide support to teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment.
  • Supervise Students: Monitor students during instructional activities, recess, and other non-instructional periods.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks: Assist with record-keeping, data entry, and other clerical duties as needed.
  • Support Student Behavior: Assist teachers with behavior management strategies and respond to student behavior incidents.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality of student records and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; college hours or degree preferred.
  • Credentials: Must meet Tier 1 Paraprofessional Requirements, including completion of 48 hours of college coursework or an associate's degree.
  • Training and Experience: Previous experience working with children, teenagers, or in a clerical role preferred.
