Job Summary

The Director of Testing and Assessment will provide strategic leadership in the planning, supervision, and oversight of the Testing and Assessment Center department and programs. This role requires a strong understanding of academic support services and the ability to develop and implement effective testing protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy that aligns with the university's goals and objectives.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure the day-to-day operations of the Testing Center are running smoothly, with a focus on compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Team Supervision: Provide guidance and support to testing center team members, including training and coaching to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure clarity, consistency, and accountability in the delivery of testing services and programs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to develop and implement new programs and initiatives.
  • Financial Management: Work with the central budget coordinator to manage payroll and finances for the department, including vendor contracts and internal fee structures.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Oversee the creation of schedules for the testing center team and ensure faculty expectations and student testing needs are being met.
  • Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure all test administration is carried out in compliance with university policies, testing regulations, guidelines, and standards.
  • Customer Service: Provide top-level customer service, handling questions and inquiries promptly and providing follow-up as needed.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain reports to track team members' work schedules, student enrollment, payroll, invoicing, and revenue.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Business Administration, Education, Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 4 years of experience working in higher education, academic support, testing services, or related area, with 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of admissions, student services, or testing services; strong organizational and time management skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to train staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Certifications: National College Testing Association (NCTA) certification preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with occasional standing or stooping.
  • Adaptability: Ability to perform under moderate levels of stress, imposed by frequent deadlines, increased workloads, and public or student contact.
