Position Overview

The LMS Safety Operations Leader is responsible for the technical and operational implementation and management of the Sunbelt Rentals customer-facing learning management system, acting as the technical expert for the LMS.

This role involves delivering Level-2 technical support to the Customer Care Center and clients, identifying innovative ways to enhance features, functionality, and processes for our customers, and ensuring the system is maintained and optimized. Additionally, the leader will create reports to oversee, monitor, and audit the training program and platform, providing essential information to clients for effective management of their training initiatives. All tasks will align with the Customer Safety Training strategic plan and related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Sunbelt's learning management system, understanding its functionalities and configuration options. Propose and implement optimization and cost-saving strategies.
  • Oversee the internal implementation process and change management for a new LMS, including system configurations, customizations, testing, data migration, scope, budget, communications, and launch.
  • Manage vendor updates to ensure Sunbelt capitalizes on new features and functionalities, communicating necessary changes to relevant user groups.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams for complex LMS customizations and upgrades, collaborating with vendors and system developers, testing enhancements before launch, and troubleshooting post-launch to minimize impact on customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the deployment of third-party courseware and internally developed courses, ensuring online content is uploaded and tested prior to publication in the production environment. Maintain all control documentation.
  • Configure, generate, and distribute custom reports and dashboards for both internal and external use, focusing on monitoring and auditing the training program, and providing clients with the necessary information to manage their employee training programs and budgets effectively.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, best practices, and training materials for District Safety Trainers, Customer Care Specialists, and users.
  • Ensure the accuracy of user training data.
  • Monitor system scalability and stability, developing and enforcing quality standards, policies, processes, and advanced monitoring reporting.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly and accurately as the Level-2 escalation point for the Customer Care Center and, when appropriate, clients. This may involve tracking and reporting process inaccuracies and system functionality issues.
  • Stay informed on LMS industry trends, vendors, and best practices to ensure Sunbelt's platform remains best-in-class concerning emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree is required (preferred fields: Information Technology, Business Administration) or equivalent experience, along with 5+ years of LMS administrative experience with Cornerstone On-Demand, Learning Cart, or a similarly complex customer-facing LMS.
  • A proven history of developing custom solutions, implementing projects, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing project budgets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management and data migration.
  • Experience with content management and SCORM and/or AICC content standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Strong business process, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work in a cross-functional environment focused on customer service solutions.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds or more, as necessary for the role. Some positions may require extended driving, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in various weather conditions, including rain, wind, or extreme temperatures, as well as night and weekend shifts. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with Sunbelt's safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.
