TAMKO Building Products LLC is on the lookout for a Production Operations Leader to oversee our manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in managing and directing all aspects of production operations, including logistics, quality assurance, and other related functions within designated areas of responsibility.

  • Optimize and manage production line efficiency by strategically planning and executing production schedules, maintenance activities, and coordinating with customer service, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams.
  • Develop and implement departmental procedures and policies in collaboration with other management personnel across the plant.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards to guarantee that the finished products meet advertised specifications. Strive to maximize compliance with quality standards and minimize product inconsistencies.
  • Propose and implement initiatives to introduce innovative techniques and products, procure new machinery or equipment, optimize workforce levels, and enhance production methods and conditions (including Six Sigma, Automation, Continuous Improvement, 5S, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the management team to prioritize projects. Oversee capital projects as necessary to align with the strategic vision.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train team members to foster positive organizational change while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate and/or participate in meetings with vendors and external contractors as needed.
  • Manage work schedules to ensure that critical events on the production lines are effectively addressed. Maintain clear communication among line managers and supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules for assigned projects; provide regular updates regarding project progress.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve issues using Deming and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and housekeeping protocols, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization through 5S initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement and morale. Lead by example and drive organizational change.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly performance reports to corporate leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in operations, engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • A Master of Business Administration degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in leading both salaried and hourly employees in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Operations Management, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, supply chain management, standard costing, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
  • Certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt, Six Sigma Process Owner, and training in accident investigation are preferred.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated heights, airborne dust and fumes, chemicals, hot environments, electrical equipment, and loud surroundings. The employee must be capable of recognizing and mitigating these risks by adhering to all safety protocols and must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary.
