SUMMARY:

The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Safety and Security team to ensure that all policies, processes, and procedures regarding safety and security are executed effectively. This position is dedicated to fostering an environment that is both welcoming and supportive for individuals who may be experiencing trauma. The individual in this role is accountable for the safety and security of facilities while embodying the principles of Biblical hospitality in every interaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain daily and periodic checklists to uphold essential safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional biblical hospitality, ensuring a positive experience for guests, volunteers, and staff.
  • Collaborate with security personnel and the Director of Guest Hospitality to implement safety and security protocols.
  • Coordinate initiatives with various departments as necessary.
  • Manage the scheduling of security and hospitality personnel.
  • Work alongside the facilities team to keep the premises clean and free of debris.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assist guests in navigating appropriate areas at designated times.
  • Exhibit a caring Christian lifestyle towards all guests, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and address any identified issues.
  • Conduct guest screenings, including card scanning and metal detector usage.
  • Complete incident reports as required.
  • Maintain an updated list of ongoing safety projects.
  • Respond to emergencies within the facility, including after-hours situations.
  • Be available to work shifts as a guard when necessary.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong commitment to Christian faith.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the expectations for Licensed Security in the State of Tennessee.
  • Ability to remain composed and provide direction in high-stress situations.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques for individuals in distress.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Effective time management skills with the capacity to plan and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of best practice security protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Light industrial setting.
  • Field-based role with occasional travel to other facilities.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions.
  • Physical demands include lifting and moving equipment.
  • Extended periods of walking or standing may be required.
  • Participation in special events or volunteer activities may be necessary.
