N Street Village is dedicated to empowering women in Washington, D.C. who are facing homelessness by providing a comprehensive range of services, housing, and advocacy, all delivered with dignity and respect.

The Vocational Center Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in leading the Marj and Mak Vocational Center, fostering significant collaborations with local vocational service providers. This position is responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 20 clients who are seeking employment or benefits. A key requirement for this role is the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Wellness Services. The coordinator will also work closely with volunteer departments to create meaningful opportunities for both one-time and ongoing volunteers, ensuring their success in these roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with adult education, job training, and employment placement organizations to ensure effective referrals.
  • Establish connections with agencies that provide SOAR (SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) benefits assistance.
  • Manage referrals from residential programs and enroll clients into the vocational program.
  • Oversee a caseload of around 20 clients seeking employment or benefits, applying best practices in case management.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers and Program Associates to create and implement client service plans.
  • Supervise and mentor service corps volunteers throughout their year of service.
  • Train and guide volunteers in delivering essential services.
  • Conduct drop-in classes and individual sessions on various vocational and educational subjects.
  • Organize volunteer engagement events with key stakeholders, including donors and corporate partners.
  • Enhance awareness of N Street Village's services within the community.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and case management documentation.
  • Participate in organization-wide meetings, departmental gatherings, and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant human services field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, workforce development, or adult education.
  • Familiarity with social service resources in D.C., particularly in education and employment.
  • Comfortable using HMIS (Homeless Management Information System).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated cultural competence with strong communication skills across diverse populations.
  • Proficient in building interpersonal relationships, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new database systems.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor.

Compensation:

Salary is based on experience, with an annual range of $50,000 to $55,000.
