Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Signet Jewelers. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations: Assume the duties and responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence, ensuring seamless store operations and maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Customer Service: Contribute to an environment of total customer satisfaction by making the customer's needs the first priority, providing expert knowledge of our products, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Sales Performance: Exert maximum effort to achieve store sales projections, identifying opportunities to increase sales and implementing strategies to drive growth.
  • Team Management: Assist in maintaining daily focus among all associates on standards achievement, enforcing all policies and procedures, and ensuring store profits by controlling markdowns, store expenses, and payroll.
  • Training and Development: Assist the General Manager in sales training, store meetings, and role plays, as well as recruiting and selecting personnel, interviewing, and screening candidates.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring the inventory control function, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and implementing strategies to minimize losses.
  • Store Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the overall appearance of the store, both inside and outside, by delegating or performing these duties.
  • Security and Loss Prevention: Adhere to all established security and loss prevention policies, ensuring the safety and security of our customers and employees.
Requirements
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others, accepting responsibility, making decisions, and delegating when appropriate.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Product Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of our products, including features, benefits, warranties, and services.
  • Time Management: Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks and priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Teamwork: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, providing support and guidance as needed, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
Work Schedule

During non-peak periods, general managers should aim for a five-day, 40-hour work week. Schedule based on the right time to effectively run your business, considering operating hours, sales requirements, customer traffic, proper store coverage, and time to coach, train, and develop your team. Hours will increase during peak selling periods.
