Position Overview

A vibrant dining establishment is seeking a Sous Chef to enhance our culinary team.

We are in search of a dynamic individual who thrives on the challenges of systematizing kitchen operations and is eager to contribute to a progressive team dedicated to excellence and ongoing menu innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all menu items, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes.
  • Uphold kitchen cleanliness in line with health regulations.
  • Establish and maintain designated kitchen workstations.
  • Plan food production to align with service hours, preserving the quality, temperature, and presentation of dishes.
  • Oversee the efficient use of kitchen supplies and equipment to reduce waste and loss.
  • Adhere to safe food handling practices at all times.
  • Properly store food, labeling items with dates.
  • Communicate necessary equipment repairs and maintenance to management.
  • Maintain a tidy work area; clean and care for food preparation equipment.
  • Perform additional back-of-house tasks as directed by management.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a sous chef in a full-service dining environment. A passion for culinary arts is essential, with knowledge of Mexican cuisine being advantageous.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with contemporary cooking techniques.
  • Effectively operate in a fast-paced setting, prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Manage stressful situations while maintaining a composed and inviting demeanor.
  • Execute culinary responsibilities, addressing guest requests promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Deliver high volumes of work while adhering to Fonda standards of quality.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs and push/pull items up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead.
  • Proficient in using culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and possessing strong taste and smell senses.

Compensation: The total compensation package includes a competitive salary, vacation time, insurance reimbursement, and additional benefits, all of which are negotiable.
