Role Summary:

The Community Engagement and Leasing Specialist will report directly to the Community Manager and will play a vital role in fostering resident programs and building community partnerships. This position serves as a liaison between residents and essential services, enhancing the overall community experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with residents, site staff, and local service providers to develop and implement community service programs.
  • Establish connections with local organizations and government agencies to coordinate initiatives that promote residents' health and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with residents through various channels (newsletters, flyers, bulletin boards, etc.) to keep them informed about available resources and programs.
  • Coordinate with site team members to ensure staff participation in on-site activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community members to enhance resident engagement.
  • Conduct surveys to assess community needs and provide opportunities for residents to achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • Monitor program outcomes and implement evaluation strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations related to apartment leasing and management.
  • Assist with leasing and resident recertification tasks, including:
    • Presenting properties and amenities positively to prospective tenants.
    • Handling incoming inquiries.
    • Processing resident applications.
    • Advertising available properties through various media.
    • Fostering resident retention.
    • Supporting the Community Manager and Assistant Manager.
    • Promoting AHF's customer service standards.
    • Entering data into property management software (currently Yardi).
    • Conducting outreach marketing.
    • Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Able to establish and maintain professional relationships with community organizations, residents, and staff.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with local resources and community dynamics.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to connect with residents and community partners.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Previous experience in community engagement, leasing, or resident services is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in Yardi, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace is preferred.
