Your Daily Responsibilities as a Communication Specialist:

  • Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide consultation to staff regarding speech, language, voice, and hearing challenges.
  • Emphasize practical communication skills to help our students gain maximum independence in their current and future settings.
  • Work closely with special education instructors to ensure that the speech and language requirements of the students are met.

Position Overview:

Compensation: Starting at $33.65 per hour (increases based on education and experience)

Work Schedule: Part-time (Monday-Friday)

Qualifications:

Education: M.S. or M.A. in Speech Pathology with Certification of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) or equivalent qualifications. Florida SLP licensure preferred.

Experience: Prior experience addressing remedial speech/language issues in a healthcare or educational setting.

Proficient in computer applications, adept in Microsoft Office, and experienced with data collection and analysis tools. Strong organizational capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities concurrently, and adhere to established protocols. A valid driver's license is required.
