Position Overview:

The role of the Operations Officer in Operational Communications is crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of communication systems within the emergency services framework. This position entails evaluating and suggesting modifications to existing policies, pinpointing areas for enhancement, and updating the operational framework with an emphasis on dispatch and alerting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and facilitate communication among staff and volunteers regarding call-taking and dispatch operations.
  • Implement advanced capabilities within the operational communications systems.
  • Engage in operational command and control duties during local, regional, and state-wide emergency situations.
  • Maintain necessary accreditation to perform as the State Duty Officer and contribute to the Incident Management Team (IMT).

Compensation and Employment Details:

  • Salary range: $92,332 to $104,762 + 15% Commuted Allowance + Superannuation.
  • Employment type: Ongoing, Full-time.
  • Ability to travel to the Regional office or regional ICC within 60 minutes when on duty is essential.
