Position Overview

The Nutrition Services Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nutrition services within the organization. This position is integral to the Head Start program, working under the guidance of the CACFP Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the CACFP Supervisor to manage an efficient food service operation that adheres to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the CACFP Supervisor and other leadership team members.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with staff through written and electronic correspondence.
  • Conduct data entry and manage information across various databases, preparing analytical reports as needed.
  • Oversee the ordering, inventory, and distribution of food service supplies to maintain program efficiency.
  • Assist in menu planning to ensure compliance with nutritional guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Parent Engagement Specialist and Food Service Assistants for menu planning for meetings.
  • Promote nutrition education initiatives for children, staff, and parents.
  • Support the CACFP Supervisor in organizing training sessions and workshops.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor compliance with CACFP standards and perform regular audits of documentation.
  • Ensure that food service operations are conducted in a safe and sanitary manner, reporting any issues as necessary.
  • Maintain flexibility to provide food service support at various sites as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and agency standards of conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of relevant administrative experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other technology tools, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Must successfully pass background checks and meet health and safety training requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Familiarity with Head Start programs and regulations.
  • Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of CACFP and other child nutrition programs.
  • Experience in educational or non-profit environments.
Licensing and Certifications
  • Current Food Handler Card and Oregon Registry Step Certificate.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Completion of mandatory child safety training.
Physical Requirements

This role involves a mix of office and kitchen environments, requiring moderate physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
