Job Overview

Spring Meadow Nursery Inc. is eager to welcome a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to our HR team. The HR Coordinator role is a hands-on position ideal for someone enthusiastic about daily HR operations and interactions. This position provides the chance to engage with a variety of HR-related functions, including staffing, HR information systems, timekeeping, and payroll management.

The HR Coordinator is tasked with delivering precise and timely HR services and reporting, as well as aiding in general human resources and benefits administration tasks. Ultimately, the HR Coordinator's mission is to ensure our HR department effectively supports our workforce while adhering to labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, manage, and update internal databases with new employee information and documentation.
  • Assist with updates, inquiries, and modifications in the HRIS system.
  • Facilitate the communication and distribution of HR policies, procedures, and standards in both digital and printed formats.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including setting up necessary technology.
  • Assist in tracking performance management and organizing office staff.
  • Provide support with payroll processes.
  • Help with benefits administration, including programs such as Medical/Rx, Dental, Life/AD&D, Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k), and Supplemental and Voluntary Insurance.
  • Be open to assisting with special projects and various tasks as needed.
  • Prepare HR-related reports as required.

  • Comply with the Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc. Safety Handbook.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Education or experience in business administration and/or Human Resources.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in computer skills and office software, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with clerical practices and procedures.
  • Understanding of human resources management practices and HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is highly desirable.

Performance Expectations:

  • Must consistently meet company performance standards, achieving a rating of "Meets Expectations" in all areas of performance evaluations.

Job Type: Full time, salary (exempt). Pay: starting at $35,000 per year, dependent upon experience. Amount is not inclusive of total compensation package. Benefits: Eligible for full benefit package, subject to new hire waiting period, including but not limited to health insurance, 401k plan, and paid time off.
