The Human Resources Business Partner will work closely with assigned business units to understand and execute their human resource strategy, focusing on current and future talent needs. This role will support the overall Human Resources department by participating in various functions, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee relations, policy interpretation, and other general HR activities.
Key Responsibilities- Talent Management: Develop and implement overall talent and workforce plans for assigned business units, collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and future needs.
- HR Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to business leadership, managing sensitive information and circumstances, and conducting HR-related investigations, EEO complaints, and employee issues.
- Performance Management: Drive the annual performance management process, including goal setting, mid-year coaching, and year-end reviews, and assist individuals and management in identifying and creating development plans for selected associates.
- Employee Relations: Assist managers with performance issues and administer the progressive discipline policy, participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Compliance: Ensure federal, state, and local employment law compliance through consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Communication: Influence and communicate with all levels of the organization, from front-line employees to senior leadership.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Promote company values regarding inclusion and diversity, recommending changes to policy and workplace practices that cultivate a fair and equitable workplace.
- Analytics and Engagement: Leverage human resource analytics and engagement survey data to develop solutions, employee programs, and interventions needed to improve retention and engagement.
- Administrative Tasks: Follow up on related clerical documentation, such as employment forms, offers of employment, onboarding, employment, and compensation changes.
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: Five or more years of experience in human resources, with broad experience across various functional areas, including employment investigations, employee engagement, policy interpretation, performance management, talent acquisition, and talent development.
- Skills: Proficient in HR systems, Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to interact with internal customers, vendors, peers, and individuals in the community; physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, twisting; lifting 15 pounds at times; ability to travel to regional offices and remote construction and work sites regularly.
