Job Overview

Are you looking for a role where your contributions are valued and recognized? RER Solutions, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Press Assistant to enhance our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to provide both onsite and remote assistance to our Digital and Press Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and edit press communications for senior officials, including the Secretary of Energy and Deputy Secretary of Energy.
  • Prepare and refine press releases and media advisories for the Department of Energy.
  • Facilitate interview requests among reporters and energy sector professionals.
  • Coordinate events and interviews for senior officials.
  • Develop strategies to integrate public relations and outreach efforts, advising on agency positions regarding various issues.
  • Research and propose programs and initiatives for inclusion in communication and outreach plans.
  • Analyze policies and objectives to ensure effective execution of communication strategies.
  • Evaluate communication program effectiveness through statistical data interpretation.
  • Monitor and analyze web analytics and social media engagement for strategic insights.
  • Prepare briefings and memos for Departmental and Public Affairs officials, including content for social media platforms.
  • Manage a blog on the Department of Energy's website.
  • Compile press clippings to track media coverage of press releases and public engagements.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a client-issued Public Trust.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in developing and drafting strategic media and communication plans.
  • At least one year of experience in a communications role within a government, political, or journalistic environment.
  • Proven experience in media relations and communication.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizations on complex projects.
  • A strong understanding of clean energy and climate change policies.
  • Interest in research and policy communication.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in business writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Education

A Bachelor's Degree is required.
