Your Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of exhaust systems for motorcycles, trucks, SXS, and UTVs. Your expertise will be essential in driving innovative solutions from concept through to production. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing exhaust system components and assemblies
- Conducting engineering analyses, including FEA and calculations for performance and durability
- Implementing Design For Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A) principles
- Researching and proposing design solutions for various projects
- Staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in exhaust systems
- Producing detailed drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions
- Applying GD&T standards and performing tolerance analysis
- Managing projects through a structured stage-gate process
- Overseeing engineering change notices for continuous improvement
- Collaborating with sales and marketing teams on new product initiatives
- Conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective measures
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Required Skills:
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and parametric design, preferably using Solidworks
- Experience with engineering calculations and FEA for product performance
- In-depth knowledge of automotive and motorsport components
- Hands-on experience with tools and equipment in the automotive sector
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of ASME Y GD&T standards
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with product launches
- Familiarity with coating and plating technologies
- Knowledge of exhaust manufacturing processes
- Experience in vendor management and joint development
- Background in the powersports industry
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
