Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Growth and Development Professional to join our team at Northwestern Energy. As a Business Development Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying and pursuing new electric business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and driving growth and expansion initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new electric business opportunities, develop and maintain strategic relationships with customers, and negotiate contracts.
  • Engineering and Technical Expertise: Provide engineering support for growth, expansion, and extension projects, design electric facilities to Northwestern Energy standards, and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Project Management: Coordinate projects between stakeholders from other affected departments, manage project timelines, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements, provide technical support, and assist in the design of systems that meet their specifications.
  • Market Analysis and Research: Conduct market analysis and identify emerging trends or risks, and provide recommendations for growth and expansion initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Experience: Experience in electric distribution or transmission engineering, modeling, and construction preferred.
  • Skills: Strong computer, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and experience with PLS-CADD, PSSE, CAPE, GIS systems, and survey techniques desired.
  • Certifications: E or ability to obtain P.E. a plus.
