Position Overview:
The Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a crucial role in evaluating, analyzing, and executing sophisticated laboratory procedures. This position involves overseeing workflow and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards within the designated area of responsibility.
Work Schedule:
This position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the corporate technical committee for the assigned area, contributing to policy development, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct instrument evaluations and define competency requirements.
- Develop educational plans for students and contribute to quality management and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor daily departmental operations and address customer concerns promptly.
- Serve as a resource for team members and assist in training new staff as needed.
- Ensure the laboratory is prepared for inspections and maintain effective communication with all laboratory personnel and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. An Associate’s degree with two years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
Licensure/Certification:
Must hold a current Florida license as a Medical Technologist, certified in the relevant specialties required by the laboratory.
Preferred national certifications include those from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience is required, with department-specific competencies as necessary based on the area of assignment.
