Work Schedule:
Full-Time

Shift Details:
Night Shift: 8 PM - 6:30 AM (10-hour shifts, 4 days a week); includes rotating weekends and holidays.

Role Overview:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests in designated areas, as per licensure and certification. This role typically involves analytical testing of blood and other human biological samples.

Such testing requires a significant level of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in the relevant licensed areas.


Key Contributions:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist will:

  • Carry out pre-analytical tasks related to laboratory testing, including maintenance of equipment, inventory management, and specimen collection as necessary.
  • Execute all required tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately, adhering to established protocols and performance standards.
  • Participate in proficiency testing, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies.
  • Handle post-analytical tasks, including reporting results in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Provide technical support and information regarding laboratory testing for patients of all ages.
  • Assist in training new employees and medical technology students, documenting their orientation and training progress.
  • Offer guidance to laboratory technicians and support staff, addressing customer service issues within established guidelines.

Qualifications:
The qualifications required for this position include:
  • An Associate's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AAB, or AMT) unless grandfathered by state requirements.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
