Work Schedule:
Full-Time

Shift Details:
Nights: 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM (10-hour shifts, 4 days a week); rotating weekends and holidays

Role Overview:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting a variety of laboratory tests in designated areas, as per licensing and certification requirements. This role involves analytical testing of blood and other biological specimens, necessitating a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in the relevant fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre-analytical tasks associated with laboratory testing, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and specimen collection.
  • Perform all required tests and analytical procedures accurately and efficiently, adhering to established protocols and standards.
  • Engage in proficiency testing and comply with all regulatory and institutional guidelines.
  • Handle post-analytical activities, including the reporting of results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures.
  • Provide training and orientation to new staff and students, under the guidance of laboratory leadership.
  • Support technicians and staff in resolving customer service issues and provide educational assistance to clinical teams as needed.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • An Associate's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AAB, AMT) as per state requirements.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
