Position Overview:

The Mid-Atlantic Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for promoting and selling Engineered Valve Sanitary Valve Products through various channels including distributors and direct sales. This role involves managing a designated sales territory, providing training to distribution partners, and handling quotations to optimize product sales performance. The ideal candidate will consistently achieve sales targets aligned with budgetary goals and will develop a niche expertise in specialized sales areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Additional duties may include:

  • Utilizing persuasive communication, logical reasoning, and product knowledge to effectively market and sell valves to end users, architects and engineers, distributors, and representatives.
  • Maintaining a current territory plan and executing it diligently.
  • Conducting specification work to ensure product compliance and suitability.
  • Organizing product information seminars for stakeholders including end users, architects and engineers, distributors, and representatives.
  • Supporting distributors and representatives in sales efforts, including making joint sales calls and securing orders for Engineered Valves.
  • Keeping up-to-date sales action plans for distributors and representatives, monitoring progress towards established goals.
  • Assisting partners in managing inventory levels in accordance with company policies.
  • Evaluating distributor and representative performance, making recommendations for partnerships.
  • Developing and refining specialized sales skills, with opportunities to train others in individual or group settings.
  • Completing necessary administrative tasks, including writing reports and quotations to facilitate the sales process.
  • Providing regular sales forecasts for the assigned territory.
  • Assisting in the delivery of product and sales training programs.
  • Gathering and reporting market and sales trend insights to management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties but may provide support to new sales representatives as needed.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a technical discipline.
  • Three to five years of experience in outside technical sales, particularly within Biopharm markets.
  • Experience in channel management and sales of valves or related capital equipment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within the designated territory.
