The Foreman role is crucial for orchestrating strategic planning, documentation, and hands-on supervision of a team engaged in various project phases. This position is tasked with enhancing the productivity and effectiveness of all operations under their leadership. The Foreman serves as the primary safety officer on-site, ensuring the well-being of their crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee safety protocols, scheduling, workforce organization, coordination, supervision, and assist in managing costs.
  • Guarantee the fair and consistent application of all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, budget constraints, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the project team to schedule, develop, and implement work plans, procedures, and standards to meet project objectives.
  • Provide on-site oversight for the project.
  • Directly manage and coordinate the tasks of team members involved in construction projects.
  • Perform manual labor duties as necessary.
  • Identify and communicate any scheduling conflicts, needs, or deficiencies with other teams and subcontractors to the relevant parties.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess sequencing and identify potential hazards or safety issues.
  • Understand and convey safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all safety areas, while recognizing the need for crew safety training.
  • Evaluate the skills and capabilities of project employees and assess the competencies of crew members.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise among crew members effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervising construction projects.
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in construction, with a solid understanding of standard construction specifications, methods, and practices.
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings and project specifications, along with scheduling and planning construction activities.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment is essential.
  • Knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, when applicable.
