Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Henry County Schools. The successful candidate will provide exceptional student education support to students in grades 9-12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Student Support: Lead students in small group exercises to reinforce instruction and co-teach lesson components as assigned by the teacher.
  • Student Supervision: Monitor and supervise students and provide academic, emotional, and physical support as necessary.
  • Preparation and Organization: Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including the copying/duplicating of materials, construction of display/bulletin boards, learning centers and manipulatives.
  • Clerical Support: Perform necessary clerical tasks as required.
  • Student Check-in and Communication: Check students in every morning. Collect any parent communication and send to the office. Collect and organize any money that is sent in for ice cream, fundraisers, pictures, etc. and send to the bookkeeper.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Participate in lesson planning sessions, and communicate with parents and school officials.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity: Maintain integrity of confidential information related to students and staff.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service on a daily basis, and maintain professional practices.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
  • Integrity and Character: Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Professional Standards: Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Reliability and Attendance: Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to be present at the physical worksite. Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Supervision and Emergency Response: Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Communication and Vision: Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
