Position Summary

The Wooden Crate Fabrication Specialist is responsible for constructing wooden crates or boxes using both hand and power tools, ensuring the safe packing of machinery and other large or uniquely shaped products.

Key Responsibilities

Your contributions will include:

  • Interpreting blueprints and shipping notices to ascertain required materials and quantities
  • Measuring and marking materials accurately
  • Setting up and operating saws for cutting wood and metal
  • Assembling and bundling products for shipment
  • Securing heavy items within containers
  • Wrapping products with appropriate packing materials
  • Building crates around large or irregular items
  • Labeling crates with shipping information
  • Repairing damaged crates as needed
  • Counting and weighing packed items to ensure order compliance
  • Transporting materials using forklifts or pallet jacks
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the workspace and equipment
Education and Experience Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates should have:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Three to six months of relevant experience or training
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
