Essential Duties:
  • Facilitate small group activities to reinforce educational instruction and collaborate on lesson components as directed by the educator.
  • Oversee and support students, providing academic, emotional, and physical assistance as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials, including copying, creating display boards, and setting up learning centers.
  • Perform necessary administrative tasks as required.
  • Manage student check-ins each morning, gather parent communications, and organize funds for various school activities.
  • Engage in lesson planning discussions and maintain communication with parents and school officials.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information regarding students and staff.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently while adhering to professional standards.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE) is required.
  • Demonstrated integrity, commitment to confidentiality, and a strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to adhere to the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Capability to be present at the designated worksite.
  • Ability to perform tasks that involve prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Must be able to carry out routine physical activities, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to effectively supervise students, especially in emergency situations.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communication skills are crucial for fulfilling job responsibilities.
Note: Applicants with a high school diploma, GED, or those who have completed less than 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college credits (with no grades below a C) must pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment to be considered for this position. Candidates who have completed 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of college or possess an Associate's Degree or higher are exempt from this requirement.
