This department comprises nine full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members and fourteen part-time or full-time lecturers. We provide a comprehensive curriculum that spans various global regions and historical periods.

We are consistently in search of qualified History educators capable of instructing lower-division survey courses and, on occasion, upper-division courses.

Available Courses:

HIST 170S is a 3-unit upper-division survey course that fulfills the US1 requirement and also the Area S: Self, Society, and Equality in SJSU Studies. Candidates should anticipate teaching in-person on campus.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience teaching U.S. History.

This should be reflected through inclusive course materials and teaching strategies.

All courses must be organized within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), which is the official platform for the SJSU community. Faculty must ensure that all classes, whether online or in-person, are anchored in the Canvas system to facilitate faculty-student interaction.
