About the Role

Surgery Care Affiliates is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Office Representative Clerk to join our team. As a Business Office Representative Clerk, you will play a critical role in supporting the facility's business operations, ensuring seamless communication with physicians, patients, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the facility, including medical records, credentialing, admissions, accounts payable, billing, collections, insurance verification, and transaction processing.
  • Schedule surgeries in the surgery template, handle calls from physician offices, and ensure accurate and timely communication with patients and staff.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and transfer calls to other departments as needed.
  • Perform pre-registration, obtain authorization from physician offices, and complete necessary paperwork for registration.
  • Maintain accurate records, including log for cancelled appointments, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform various clerical duties, such as photocopying, mailing surveys, preparing patient charts, and retrieving faxes.
  • Ensure a clean and organized surgery scheduling area, and verify all scheduled cases as soon as possible.
  • Contact patients with financial responsibility to inform them of payment policies and options.
  • Document all insurance verification and patient calls in the patient's account.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in healthcare and one year of experience in surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of surgery scheduling, receptionist, and registration responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle stress and adapt to changing priorities.
