Education Program Manager

Job Summary:

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking an experienced Education Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery's (ONHS) education programs. This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of faculty and staff to develop and implement innovative educational initiatives that promote excellence in patient care, research, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administration and operations of health profession education programs, including teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, and program accreditation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve program quality, processes, and compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as national accrediting organizations and state and federal licensing and regulatory offices.
  • Collaborate with program directors, faculty, and GME office to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as national accrediting organizations and state and federal licensing and regulatory offices.
  • Supervise and oversee all programmatic areas within ONHS, including medical student education, ACGME residencies, fellowships, and non-ACGME programs.
  • Develop and implement training programs for faculty and staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in education and program management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum of 1 year of lead/supervisory/manager experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to recruit faculty and integrate learners, requiring high-level planning and coordination skills.
  • Working knowledge of educational software and technologies to promote teaching and learning goals.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to operational and learning concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel.
  • Ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills with peers, learners, faculty, and other education program coordinators/managers.
  • Proficient in prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.
