Key Responsibilities of the IT Field Technician:

In this capacity, you will assist in the design and execution of various client physical networks, systems, and data infrastructures. Your duties will encompass client onboarding, server transitions, Office 365 migrations, troubleshooting system or network issues, and providing support for hardware and remote access solutions. This role offers the opportunity to engage with a wide array of tools, technologies, and environments.

Preferred Qualifications of the IT Field Technician:

  • Minimum of 2 years in Help Desk, Technical Support, Field Technician, or a related role.
  • Experience in user management with Active Directory, including user/group modifications and Office 365 administration.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and configuring hardware such as printers, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Comfortable performing network maintenance and server checks, including log analysis.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, switches, wireless access points (WAP), and VLAN configurations.
  • Knowledgeable in Windows Server and workstation environments.
  • Understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS, DHCP, Ping, and Traceroute.
  • Ability to facilitate remote client connections via VPN.
  • Experience with Remote Management Tools such as ConnectWise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client interactions via phone, chat, or in-person.
  • Confident in client-facing situations.

Bonus Qualifications of the IT Field Technician:

  • Certifications such as Watchguard, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certifications, or Cisco Certifications.
  • Experience with tools such as ConnectWise, IT Glue, Group Policy, Solarwinds, WatchGuard, Ruckus, Veeam, Cisco Networking Products, Ubiquiti, VMWare, Dell, or Adobe.
  • Background in working for an IT managed service provider.
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN, routers, switches, Watchguard firewalls, access points, VPN, Citrix, VoIP, etc.
  • Knowledge of accessing virtual machines using VMware or Hyper-V.
