Key Responsibilities of the IT Field Technician:

In this position, you will assist in the design and execution of various client physical networks, systems, and data infrastructures. Responsibilities include client onboarding, server transitions, O365 migrations, troubleshooting system or network issues, and providing support for hardware and remote access solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications of the IT Field Technician:

  • Minimum of 2 years in Help Desk, Technical Support, Field Technician, or a related role.
  • Experience in user administration with Active Directory, including user/group management and Office 365 Administration.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and configuring hardware such as printers, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Comfortable performing network maintenance and server checks.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, switches, wireless access points (WAP), and VLANs.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and workstation environments.
  • Understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS, DHCP, Ping, and Traceroute.
  • Experience with remote management tools like ConnectWise.
  • Effective communication skills for client interactions via phone, chat, or in-person.
  • Confident in client-facing situations.

Bonus Qualifications of the IT Field Technician:

  • Certifications such as Watchguard, CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or Cisco.
  • Experience with tools such as ConnectWise, IT Glue, Group Policy, Solarwinds, WatchGuard, Ruckus, Veeam, Cisco Networking Products, Ubiquiti, VMWare, Dell, or Adobe.
  • Background in working for an IT managed service provider.
  • Experience with LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, access points, VPN, Citrix, and VoIP.
  • Familiarity with accessing virtual machines using VMware or Hyper-V.
