- This role emphasizes the creation of impactful PowerPoint presentations on a daily basis.

- Candidates are required to submit sample PowerPoint slides (not in PDF or Word format).

  • SAMPLE WORKS: Candidates may remove logos from previous/current employers or create a personalized deck that highlights their experience in VENDOR MANAGEMENT.
Key Requirements for Sample Work:
- Visuals such as pictures or screenshots will not be accepted; the hiring manager specifically seeks to evaluate PowerPoint proficiency.
- The ability to produce presentations aimed at C-level executives is essential.

  • Must demonstrate true expertise in PowerPoint.

Compensation:
$75-90/hr


LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY.
This is a hybrid role. Preference will be given to candidates located within the service area. Candidates from within the state will also be considered. Submissions from out-of-state candidates without plans to relocate will not be accepted.

Equipment Provision:
A laptop will be provided for local candidates. For those outside the Bay Area, VDI Citrix will be issued for remote access.

Essential Equipment:
A personal phone and a stable internet connection with speeds exceeding 400 mbps are required. Please consider this when evaluating the hourly rate.

Position Overview:
Axelon is in search of a highly driven and capable IT Program Manager for the Supplier Relation Office (SRO) team.

The IT Program Manager will oversee and lead multiple IT project teams and programs, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional PowerPoint skills, strong project management expertise, and the ability to present intricate business challenges and solutions to senior management and executive leadership.

Additionally, the candidate will manage vendor relationships and exhibit robust project management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Management:
  • Lead and manage various IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
  • Monitor project deliverables, facilitate meetings, document meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.

2. Presentation and Communication:
  • Create high-quality PowerPoint presentations to convey complex business issues, project updates, and solutions to senior management and executive leadership.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, risks, and challenges to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations, ensuring clear and concise delivery of information.

3. Financial Management:
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Track and report on the financial performance of projects, including variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Ensure alignment of project expenditures with overall program objectives and financial targets.

4. Vendor Management:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Vendor Management strategy and framework, aligning with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Create and maintain a centralized database of vendor information, including contracts, performance metrics, and contact details.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with vendors and external partners.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Manage a team that conducts regular vendor evaluations to assess performance, develop vendor scorecards, identify areas for improvement, and ensure continuous alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT operations, sourcing, and legal teams to represent IT as a unified entity with external vendors.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the tactical Vendor Management team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Regularly review and update Vendor Management policies and procedures to reflect changes in the business landscape.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and performance enhancement through effective Vendor Management practices.

5. Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Engage with various departments to ensure alignment of project goals with business objectives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and issue resolution.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT program/project management.
  • Proven experience in crafting compelling PowerPoint presentations for executive audiences.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP, Agile, MS Project).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in establishing Vendor Management Organizations (VMO).
  • Experience with vendor management, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
