Department Overview

The Electric Regulatory Compliance department serves as the primary interface between our operational regulators and our business partners in Electric Operations and Engineering. We prioritize respectful and precise communication to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

This department is responsible for facilitating audits, managing regulatory compliance discussions, implementing corrective actions, and identifying best practices through our subject matter experts.

We engage with various regulatory agencies, including the California Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (OEIS), the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), among others.

We are looking for proactive, knowledgeable individuals to join our Electric Regulatory Compliance team and contribute to our mission.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive program management support across diverse issues and assignments, working independently while receiving guidance on complex matters. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Director of Electric Regulatory Compliance as a witness or co-witness for the General Rate Case (GRC) related to program funding.
  • Developing and overseeing standardized tools for governance, monitoring, and reporting for teams under the Director of Electric Regulatory Compliance.
  • Facilitating special case regulatory responses and testimony in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Managing compliance reporting metrics for electric regulatory activities.
  • Contributing to the development of best practices and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.

Compensation Information

PG&E provides a salary range that reflects the company's good faith belief regarding compensation for this position. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including skills, education, experience, and geographic location. The estimated salary range is:

Annual Minimum: $122,000

Annual Midpoint: $158,000

Annual Maximum: $194,000

Work Location

This is a hybrid role with expectations for in-office presence at least once a week, with additional days as necessary for business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilizing expert knowledge in Program Management to address a variety of issues, working independently with minimal guidance on complex challenges.
  • Exhibiting strategic leadership with internal and cross-functional stakeholders to align with organizational objectives.
  • Creating a program implementation strategy with defined goals and milestones, ensuring stakeholder needs are met through effective communication.
  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills for leading discussions, documenting actions, and following up with stakeholders and regulators.
  • Building and maintaining robust relationships with strategic programs and partners.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of relevant job experience
  • Experience in regulatory or financial domains.

Desired:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI
  • Juris Doctor (JD) with compliance or legal experience
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Strong program management skills
  • Background in auditing or finance
  • Ability to adapt to changing business dynamics and collaborate across diverse teams
  • Effective communication skills for presenting findings to various management levels
