Department Overview

The Sourcing division serves as the primary authority for acquiring materials and services at PG&E Corporation. This department works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, managing over $10 billion in annual expenditures to create mutually advantageous total cost solutions for products and services. Key services provided include procurement, strategic sourcing, cost reduction initiatives, contract management, supplier relationship oversight, and compliance management.

Position Summary

In this role, you will enhance the client experience by crafting and executing effective Strategic Sourcing strategies and category management practices that support Vegetation Management. Your team will ensure alignment with business objectives through category planning, governance, and contract execution processes, ultimately identifying opportunities that deliver significant value to the organization. As a leader within the Sourcing division, you will cultivate an environment that promotes open communication while championing diversity and inclusion.

This position operates in a hybrid model, allowing for remote work as well as attendance at your designated work location based on business requirements.

Compensation Overview

PG&E is providing a salary range that reflects the company's good faith belief regarding potential compensation for this position at the time of posting. Actual salaries will depend on various factors, including specific skills, education, certifications, experience, market conditions, geographic location, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

Bay Area: $140,000 - $238,000

California: $133,000 - $226,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate strategic portfolio and category plans aimed at generating cost efficiencies, delivering service excellence, and optimizing diversity spending.
  • Supervise Category Leaders and assist in their ongoing professional development.
  • Lead complex cross-functional teams in executing strategic sourcing initiatives and oversee contract expenditures across various categories.
  • Develop and implement sourcing policies that align with broader company processes.
  • Conduct spend analysis, needs assessments, benchmarking, and business case development.
  • Direct the creation and execution of negotiation strategies.
  • Design and communicate compelling business cases to ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Oversee the Gated 7 Step Sourcing Process review and approval with senior leadership.
  • Participate in field visits, bid walks, and conferences to enhance category knowledge.
  • Support the implementation of key supply chain initiatives and monitor KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and contract quality.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement in contract processing and client experience.
  • Approve contracts up to $10 million.
  • Manage relationships that yield mutually beneficial outcomes for PG&E and its suppliers.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction through standardized service level agreements.
  • Assist clients with policy adherence and invoice resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of job-related experience in sourcing or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Knowledge of forestry and utility vegetation management concepts.
  • Experience sourcing Vegetation Management Services.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills for at least 2 years.
  • Project management experience or PMP certification.
  • CPSM certification from the Institute for Supply Management.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and adapt strategies based on stakeholder interests.
  • Proficient in SAP/Ariba and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
