Department Overview

The Electric Regulatory Compliance department serves as the primary interface with external regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between our operational regulators and various business units within Electric Operations and Engineering.

This department is responsible for facilitating audits, managing compliance discussions with regulators, implementing corrective actions, and identifying best practices through our subject matter experts for all relevant regulatory agencies.

Current regulatory bodies engaged by this department include the California Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (OEIS), the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), among others.

We are looking for proactive, knowledgeable individuals to join our team and contribute to the dynamic field of Electric Regulatory Compliance.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive program management support across a variety of issues and tasks, working independently with minimal guidance on complex matters, and may lead project teams within the organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Director of Electric Regulatory Compliance as a witness or co-witness for the General Rate Case (GRC) to secure funding for compliance programs.
  • Developing and overseeing consistent governance, monitoring, and reporting tools for teams reporting to the Director of Electric Regulatory Compliance.
  • Facilitating special case regulatory responses and testimony in line with departmental protocols.
  • Managing metrics related to electric regulatory compliance.
  • Contributing to the development of best practices, controls, and procedures aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring compliance.

Compensation Information

PG&E provides a salary range that reflects the company's good faith belief regarding potential compensation for this position. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including skills, education, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The estimated salary range for this role is:

Annual Minimum: $122,000

Annual Midpoint: $158,000

Annual Maximum: $194,000

Work Location

This is a hybrid role, with expectations for in-office attendance at least once a week for regular operations and additional days as required for business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of Program Management to address a wide array of issues, working independently with guidance on complex challenges, and may lead project teams.
  • Exhibits strategic leadership with both internal and cross-functional stakeholders to align with organizational objectives.
  • Creates a program implementation strategy with defined goals and milestones, clearly communicating objectives to key stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet their needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills for leading discussions, documenting corrective actions, and engaging with stakeholders and regulators.
  • Maintains strong collaborative relationships with all strategic programs and partners.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of job-related experience
  • Prior experience in regulatory or financial sectors.

Desired:

  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • Juris Doctor (JD) with compliance or legal experience.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Strong program management skills
  • Background in auditing or finance
