Position Overview

The Senior Process Improvement Engineer role is pivotal in advancing our lean transformation initiatives. You will play a key role in fostering and sustaining a lean culture by utilizing various continuous improvement methodologies to achieve exceptional manufacturing performance. Your background in lean manufacturing, operational enhancements, and project management will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement lean manufacturing practices through ongoing Kaizen and workshop initiatives.
  • Utilize lean tools to eliminate inefficiencies, enhance processes, and minimize product variability.
  • Act as an internal advocate for Lean methodologies to align with the business strategy.
  • Ensure the completion of action items resulting from Kaizen events, workshops, and projects.
  • Develop a pipeline of Kaizen initiatives and projects to maintain momentum for positive change.
  • Provide training and mentorship in Lean production techniques, process knowledge, and management tools.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions using appropriate tools to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Monitor and track progress towards key performance indicators (KPIs), consolidating performance metrics and project activities.
  • Assist operations in the development and management of Standard Work Instructions.
  • Create metrics and dashboards to engage the entire operations team in understanding and improving KPIs.
  • Employ improvement tools such as A-3 reports, Ishikawa diagrams, Visual Management Boards, and Daily Management practices.
  • Lead advanced improvement events, including Value Stream Mapping for complex processes.
  • Enhance the program to achieve world-class standards through innovation and benchmarking, promoting self-sufficiency within business units and sites.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Science, Technology, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent experience (5 years).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in facilitating and managing Lean Manufacturing programs.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience with tools such as Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, and Lean process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking capabilities.
  • Experience in designing and leading manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Lean Methodologies and their application.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data to formulate improvement strategies.
  • Proficient in preparing and delivering impactful presentations.
  • Strong team-building skills with the ability to facilitate collaborative initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a solid understanding of business process improvement.
  • Capability to train and develop others.
  • Experience in leading presentations regarding projects and initiatives.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management skills.
