Position Overview

The Senior Process Improvement Engineer role is pivotal in advancing our lean transformation initiatives. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement by employing various tools and methodologies aimed at achieving exceptional manufacturing performance. Your background in lean manufacturing and operational processes will be essential in this capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement lean manufacturing practices through ongoing Kaizen and workshop initiatives.
  • Utilize lean methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, enhance processes, and minimize product variability.
  • Act as an internal advocate for Lean principles, aligning them with the overall business strategy.
  • Ensure completion of action items arising from Kaizen events, workshops, and improvement projects.
  • Develop a pipeline of Kaizen initiatives and projects to maintain momentum in driving positive change.
  • Provide training and mentorship in Lean production techniques, process insights, and management tools.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions using appropriate methodologies to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, ensuring progress towards key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist operations in creating and managing Standard Work Instructions.
  • Design metrics and dashboards to engage the entire operations team in understanding and improving KPIs.
  • Employ improvement tools such as A-3 reports, Ishikawa diagrams, and Visual Management Boards.
  • Lead advanced improvement initiatives, including Value Stream Mapping for complex processes.
  • Enhance the improvement program to achieve world-class standards through innovation and benchmarking.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in leading and managing Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience with tools such as Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, and Lean methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to design and facilitate manufacturing improvement projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean principles and their application.
  • Proficient in data compilation, analysis, and the development of improvement strategies.
  • Ability to deliver impactful presentations and foster team collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on business process enhancement.
  • Experience in training and developing others.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management.
